Future residents of Watermark will enjoy even greater connectivity to the area’s growing transport amenity thanks to the news that the first stage of the Regional Rail Link will start delivering services from Sunday 21 June!
The first stage of the State Government’s significant $3.65 billion Regional Rail Link program, which has seen the construction of over 90 kilometres of new train track, will provide Geelong services with a dedicated route via the metropolitan network from Sunshine Station to Southern Cross Station.
This means Geelong services will see increased capacity from 150 services a week currently up to 250 services under the new timetable, and fewer delays as they will no longer share the tracks with other regular services.
The State Government has released the first official timetable for the new services which will deliver new services running up to every 10 minutes in peak hour times, and every 20 – 40 minutes in non-peak times.
This spells great news for residents of Watermark who will soon be able to leave the car at home more often and enjoy a stress and traffic-free commute to Melbourne, with Marshall Train Station located just a five minute trip from their front doorstep.
